PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To supervise the maintenance activities of the instrumentation services in the plant

REPORTING TO the Maintenance Engineer

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing the team and equipment to ensure word class equipment availability.
• Scope, plan and schedule work. Ensuring resources (people, spares, tools) are available to successfully complete work.
• Ongoing development and refinement of maintenance plans, ensuring that all equipment is covered by effective proactive maintenance.
• Evaluation if spares requirements and ensuring that sufficient spares are kept in stock.
• Identifying equipment that is becoming obsolete and ensuring that a replacement plan is in place.
• Keep abreast of new developments in terms of technology in the instrumentation field
• Responsible for purchases of new equipment and ensure that they are within budget limits
• Manage personnel and supervises all work done in the section.
• Responsible for the development of subordinates
• Responsible for general administrative work in the section
• Assist the Maintenance Engineer with the execution of ad hoc projects

KEY COMPETENCIES / SKILLS

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize, plan and organize
• Drive for results and action orientated
• Problem solving and trouble shooting
• Supervisory experience.
• Good communication and people management skills.
• Computer literate. SAP knowledge shall be advantageous.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Minimum N3, N4 will be advantageous
• Trade Tested in Instrumentation Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years (post trade test) experience
• Supervisory experience an advantage
