PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for the safe and cost effective performance of maintenance tasks, thereby ensuring optimised long-term plant availability and reliability and coordination of the resource teams.
REPORTING TO the Maintenance Manager
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate cost effective and safe allocation of internal resources
- Coordinate sourcing and allocation of external resources
- Coordinate the prioritisation and approval of assigned scheduled and / or planned maintenance tasks
- Manage maintenance tasks execution
- Ensure effective shut planning and execution
- Ensure resources available for breakdowns and opportunity maintenance when required
- Accountable for availability of effective opportunity maintenance plans
- Reporting and communication
- Attend production MDT meetings (alternate between MDT's) & attend production MBU meetings
- Develop personnel through active engagement
- Knowledge sharing within and across teams
- Manpower planning
- Ensure work permit compliance to Sappi policy
- Ensure compliance to the Sappi SHE policy and procedures
- Accountable for compliance with work order business process.
KEY COMPETENCIES / SKILLS
- Leadership skills
- Management skills
- High performer with proven track record
- SAP knowledge and proficiency will be advantageous
- Valid code B driving
- OHS Act legal appointment (section 8 &, 7(2)).
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- NQF6: National Diploma in Engineering
- NQF6: Management Development Programme(MDP)
- 5 years Heavy industry experience
- Pulp and Paper industry experience will be advantageous
- GCC Factories will be advantageous.
