Shift Supervisor - Logistics (Grade 10/HRL13)
Sappi Ngodwana Mill seeks to place a suitably qualified Shift Supervisor for the Logistics Department to ensure effective performance of shift based operations by supervision and management of subordinates to ensure effective distribution
REPORTING TO: Logistics Superintendent
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise shift in accordance with best practice
- Measure performance as per set goals and standards to ensure maximum performance
- Initiate formal corrective action to ensuring sound employee relations
- Initiate training to ensure employees are competent in the current job and are being developed for the next job
- Supervise manpower in accordance with operational requirements and manpower budget
- Monitor shift roster and adjust according to short term needs to ensure effective operations
- Supervise overtime cost and hours worked effectively
- Plan and control expenditure in accordance with budget
- Responsible for time management
- Coach and mentor team members to ensure competent staff
- Continuously align to best operating practice
- Dispatch according to distribution plan
- Participate in relevant forums and meetings
- Understand and follow SHEQ requirements and corrects non-conformances
- Maintain a high leave of good housekeeping in the workplace
- Create safe and healthy environment awareness in compliance with policies and procedures
- Identification, communication and mitigation of risks

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Matric (Maths and Science) or N3 Pulp and Paper with relevant NQF 5 qualification
- 3 years' experience in a logistics environment
