PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To perform concentrated chemical mixes, strength analysis titrations and supply plants with chemicals.

REPORTING TO the PRODUCTION MANAGER

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive caustic soda and hypo tankers that deliver product to the plant
• Test the concentrated caustic and hypo to ensure that the strength meet required specification
• Test detergent samples for Bleaching 2 & 3
• Supply bleaching plant and other plants with diluted caustic soda and hypo
• Take and collects caustic & hypo soda samples to the lab for analysis
• Ensure that the hypo is mixed correctly by opening the valve to the mixing tanks, dilution valves and also start the pumps
• Identify deviations that occur in the plant and report to the chemical plant operator.
• Keep the control room clean and safe
• Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and procedures.

• Quality awareness.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12
• Minimum of 6 months plant operation experience
• Experience in a laboratory environment will be considered advantageous.
